We are arriving 2 days before our friends they are in my friends and family. Can I make fast passes for them when I make ours, or do I have to wait?

Hi there Leigh Anne! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thanks for stopping by with your vacation planning question. We're always happy to help.

I'm so glad you hEAR you are going to make FastPass+ reservations in advance for your adventure to the Most Magical Place on Earth. My family loves selecting our must-do experiences before our vacation even begins. Coordinating FastPass+ reservations when traveling with a large group of friends and family is a great idea; I find that when vacationing with friends, we can go off and do our own thing for awhile, and then meet back up for a pre-selected FastPass+ experience or Advanced Dining Reservation

As you may already know, guests of Walt Disney World Resort Hotels are able to begin choosing FastPass+ experiences up to 60 days in advance of their check-in date. The key word there is check-in. While you will be able to take care of reserving FastPass+ for your friends as long as they are part of your Friends & Family List, you will not be able to do so until 60 days prior to their check-in date. This question comes up frequently, and you can read how I helped another guest with a similar concern just last month.

Remember that your FastPass+ times do not need to match exactly to be able to experience attractions together. For example, if one group has a reservation to ride Avatar Flight of Passage (one of my favorite Walt Disney World attractions) between 10:00 and 11:00, and another has a return window of 10:30-11:30, there is a thirty minute window between 10:30 and 11 during which everyone can fly together. I often find that splitting a large party into smaller groups with overlapping return times is a good strategy to score some of the most popular FastPass+ reservations.

I hope this helps finalize your itinerary. If your travel plans include Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I will keep my fingers crossed that you get to experience Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, debuting March 4. The first Disney theme park attraction to feature the main mouse himself looks like it will be so much fun!

Best wishes for a magical vacation!
