Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, George! If you are looking for a truly magical experience, there is no better place than
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa during the holidays. Guests staying here get treated to all the trimmings of a Victorian Christmas, including quintessential holiday traditions such as roasted chestnuts, and a
life-sized Gingerbread House!
There are a couple of options available to guests wishing to
rent an Electric Conveyance Vehicle (scooter) during their stay at a Walt Disney World hotel. The easiest one would be to contact ScooterBug, a private mobility rental company in the Central Florida area, before your trip. They recently became a Disney Featured Provider, meaning that guests renting through them do not need to be present when the equipment is delivered to the Resort hotel. ScooterBug will work with the Walt Disney World Resort Cast Members to manage deliveries and returns of rented ECVs. You are still welcome to rent through other providers; however, you'll need to set up a time to be available for the delivery and pick up process. For more information, visit their website at scooterbug.com/orlando or call (800) 726-8284. ECVs are always allowed on all modes of Walt Disney World transportation, including the
monorail, which will whisk you away from your Resort to
Epcot.
If you'd rather wait until you get to Epcot, ECVs can also be rented at each of the theme parks and Disney Springs for $50 per day (prices are subject to change without notice). If you decide to take a break and head back to your resort for a mid-day break, your scooter can be held if you leave and return to the same Park on the same day. Also, if you're interested in Park hopping during your trip, simply return the scooter at the first Park, and pick up another at your next destination- you only have to pay once per day (hang onto that receipt)! Keep in mind that reservations are not accepted, and quantities are limited, so you'll want to get to the rental location early in the day. If you have any questions, feel free to call Disability Services at (407) 560-2547.
I hope you have a magical holiday, George! See ya' real soon!
