Arriving at AOA on 9/24-10/1. Thought room assignments were done shortly before arrival date. Called to request a Finding Nemo room and was told they were all booked. Any ideas? The kids took a big vote and Nemo was the winner! Don't want to disappoint:(

    Hi Robin,

You have a great question which prompted me to do some calling and checking. You are correct that the actual room numbers aren't assigned until about a week prior to the start of the Guest's stay. However some sections of Resort hotels can be selected upon your initial booking. For example, when making a reservation at the Art of Animation Resort hotel you have the option of reserving Family Suites from the categories of The Lion King Family Suites, Finding Nemo Family Suites, Cars Family Suites, or nonspecific Family Suites. You should check your reservation details to see what kind of reservation you have.

Robin since your family really wants Finding Nemo section, you can do two things to try and increase your odds of receiving a room in that section. First, have your preference noted on your reservation. It cannot be guaranteed, but they will try and assign you a room in this section if one becomes available prior to your check in. Second you should inquire about a room in the Finding Nemo section when you check in. You might offer to the Cast Member that you don't mind waiting a few extra hours if it helps you get a room in the Finding Nemo section.

If neither strategy pans out for you, I truly think your family will have an amazing time in either of the other sections. I have stayed in the Cars section and loved it! You will still be able to experience the magic of Finding Nemo through access to "The Big Blue Pool" which is Finding Nemo themed and over the top fun. Your children will enjoy swimming their little fins off! My youngest child normally will not put his face in the water, but at The Big Blue Pool he was constantly going under water in order to listen to the music.

Good luck Robin! I hope you have a MAGICAL family vacation.

    Blessings,
    Brenda ºOº
