Hi Kathy - from another Kathy! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Sounds like your plans for a summer visit to Walt Disney World are coming right along. You've squared away your reservations for
Disney's Art of Animation Resort, got your dining locked up - now let's help you kick off your stay with those fabulous 4th of July fireworks!
I just checked the hours for the Magic Kingdom Park for July 4th, and as of now it's scheduled to be open until 1 a.m. that day. Disney's Celebrate America! - A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky fireworks show begins at 9 p.m., so after watching the show from either the Transportation and Ticket Center or Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, you'd still have plenty of time to take the ferry or a resort launch to the Magic Kingdom to catch a bus back to your resort hotel.
Since you'll have a car, though, it would probably be easier to just hop aboard a tram at the Transportation and Ticket Center and drive back to the Art of Animation Resort. Lots of people will be heading out after the fireworks are over, so going back to the Magic Kingdom and then waiting for a bus would take a while, and would likely be pretty crowded. If it were me, I think I'd take the car back "home," and rest up for your first full day in the parks.
I hope this helps you plan that all-important arrival day at Walt Disney World, Kathy. Please stop by and see us again if we can answer any more questions.
Wishing you a magical vacation!
Kathy K.
