We will be arriving at Animal Kingdom Resort on July 14 only 2 weeks! we have booked Aruhsa Savannah View--have 2 grandchildren with us so would like best room for Animal Viewing! We have also requested 2 Queen beds- any particular room/floor the best?

    Hello, Kerrie!

You are in for such a treat during your stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge!

We've stayed in several locations at both Jambo House as well as at Kidani Village, and I agree...your savannah view will be so exciting for all four of you, no matter what time of day!

While we've loved each location, regardless of the floor / room we've been given, I would suggest that you request a location that either closest to the lobby or to the elevators. Because the rooms are situated around the savannah, you may have a very long walk from the lobby to your room (think of this, however, as an indoor walk, similar to an outdoor walk, at a resort such as Old Key West or Saratoga Springs Resort. It may be longer than you'd expect once you're inside the resort, but it's no longer than a walk at a different property, from a bus stop to a villa.)  With the request to be located near the lobby or an elevator, your walk will feel a bit shorter from the lobby to your room, just perfect for a stay with your grandchildren!

If you have night vision goggles (you can pick up some relatively inexpensive toy "spy gear" at toy stores prior to your departure; they work suprisingly well), be sure to bring them, too. The lights on the savannah will be out at night so that the animals can get a good night's sleep. However, they are still fascinating to watch, especially since they may be right outside your balcony for their night's sleep!

Have a wonderful trip! Be sure to send more questions as you think of them, too. I'd love to help!
