We are arriving at animal kingdom lodge on 14th March (very excited!). We have the standard dining plan. I have heard that the quick service credits are now split into kids/adults, is this correct?

    Jambo Jessica!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will always hold a piece of my heart. There is something so grand and dare I say spectacular about this Resort hotel. Upon entering the main lobby, you will find yourself amazed at the expansive South African themed wildlife reserve lodge. The attention to detail is breathtaking, and there is such beauty in all of the artifacts throughout. One of my favorite things to do here is walk out onto the “Arusha Rock,” an elevated viewing area that offers magnificent views of roaming animals on the savannah.

We love participating in the Disney Dining Plans. For my family, this is the easiest way to budget ahead of time for meals. It allows me peace of mind knowing that my dining is paid for in advance of my vacation. We also love the flexibility of the plans. Sometimes my children may not be hungry for a large meal. On those days, we use more of our snack credits instead of a sit-down meal. We then have the flexibility on another day to do two sit-down meals if we choose. You can use all of your entitlements any way that you wish until all of your meals and snacks have been used.

It is my understanding that the Disney Dining Plan does distinguish between adult and child meal credits. You can still choose to use your snack credits any way that you want. If you are looking for a healthy option, look for the Mickey Check symbol. The Mickey Check symbol lets you know that the food you are choosing is not only tasty but also meets Disney nutritional guidelines.

One last tip, if you are looking for a delicious place to enjoy breakfast, I highly recommend Boma – Flavors of Africa. There are many different food options at this buffet-style breakfast. From made to order Omelets to Hand-carved Turkey, French Toast Bread Pudding, and Oak-grilled Asparagus and Tomatoes, there is something for everyone on this diverse menu. Dining Reservations are highly recommended.

I hope that you and your family enjoy the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge!
