Traveling can be exhausting these days and I always suggest that families take it easy on their first day when they arrive at Walt Disney World. It is better to head to bed early and be fresh and ready to take on the parks the next day!

To reach either the Magic Kingdom or EPCOT parks it will take you approximately 20-35 minutes but be sure and add wait times for bus transportation.

My suggestion for your first night would be to head to Downtown Disney. You can do this via boat from Port Orleans and that trip should take approximately 15 minutes. There are some great spots to consider for dining and they include Fulton's Crab House, Paradiso 37, Portobello Yacht Club, Raglan Road Irish Pub, and Wolfgang Puck Cafe. Our favorite here has always been Fulton's as we love their fresh fish selections. If you have younger children you might consider Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe, or the newest spot, T-Rex, A Prehistoric Family Adventure.
