We will arrive at WDW on 12/7 and stay through 12/12. I know I need reservations for character meals, but should I have them for all of our other meals too?

    Hi Misti,

If you think you might want to dine at a table service restaurant it's a good idea to make reservations.  Sure, the character meals are really popular, and you're absolutely right to make reservations, but the non-character restaurants fill up quickly as well.

Now, there are several great counter service options where reservations aren't necessary.  Sunshine Seasons in Epcot, Pecos Bill's in Magic Kingdom and Toy Story Pizza Planet in Hollywood Studios are all great places to grab a bite to eat where no reservation is necessary.  These are great options to have in mind if you decide to take your chances and walk in to a table service restaurant with no reservation.  You may be able to get in, but if not, it's good to have a plan B.

Also, there are several great counter service restaurants throughout World Showcase in Epcot.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
