Hi, Mary! Welcome to planDisney!
Christmas Eve at the Walt Disney World Resort will be magical indeed! Let's make sure you have what you need to have yourself a merry little Disney Christmas!
I know it can be a bit confusing now that there are some extra steps involved in planning a Disney vacation, but we'll go through them right here. First things first: We should talk tickets.
Disney sells theme park tickets by date, not by park, so when you make that initial purchase, your tickets are actually valid for
any of the four theme parks. The park reservation is a separate step, so it isn't automatically included in the purchase. You specify which park you'll visit using those tickets when you take that next step to make a Disney Park Pass reservation. Before that, your tickets are a blank slate, just waiting for you to make some plans!
After you purchase your tickets, you'll need to make sure they're
linked to your My Disney Experience account. Then, it's reservation time! Head over to the
Disney Park Pass page and choose the date and theme park you're planning to visit, confirm your choices, and that's it! Your reservation will show up in the "My Plans" section of your
My Disney Experience account.
Mary, with the busy holiday season upon us,
reservations for the Magic Kingdom Park are already booked for all of next week. If you haven't made them yet, you'll need to either keep a close eye on the Theme Park Reservations Availability Calendar in case something opens up, or consider making a reservation for a park that does have availability, such as EPCOT. If you don't mind changing your plans, I can happily recommend a visit there! With the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays currently underway, you'll absolutely love trying out the seasonal tastes of the Holiday Kitchens and exploring some of the traditions of cultures from around the world. I love EPCOT, and it really does glow during the holidays!
I hope your vacation plans are all set, Mary, but I know you'll have a jolly Disney holiday wherever the spirit takes you. Thank you so much for stopping by to see us, and I wish you all the joys of the season!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
