Will arrive Sunday October 14 late afternoon!! Staying at AOA. 8:20pm ADR at Chef Mickey's. Is it best to drive from AOA to Cont. or take a bus (3 young children)? Most importantly: Will we be able to see the electric water parade???Will kids enjoy it?

    Hi Judye!

This is a great question!  I can tell you that both of my boys, ages 13 and 8, love Chef Mickey's.  They both loved Chef Mickey's when they were in preschool.  Eating there will definitely put you in the Disney spirit!

If you have a car, I suggest just driving straight to the Contemporary Resort.  You won't have any problems parking there, especially if you bring your Advance Dining Reservation confirmation number with you.  You can self park or valet part at the  Contemporary Resort and then walk upstairs to Chef Mickey's.

If you have to use Disney transportation, the best bet is to take a bus from the Art of Animation Resort to the Magic Kingdom.  From the Magic Kingdom bus stop (don't worry, you won't be going into the theme park) just walk the 5 or 10 minute walk, depending on your speed, to the Contemporary Resort.  Another option is to walk from the Magic Kingdom bus stop to the monorail station and take a monorail to the Contemporary.

Unfortunately, you will almost certainly miss the Electric Water Pageant as you will still be dining in Chef Mickey's if your experience is anything like mine.  You generally have to wait a few minutes to get seated and it takes some time for all of the characters to come to your table.

I think you made an excellent choice with Chef Mickey's. Please write back with more questions!
