Hi there Terri,
Congratulations on your upcoming trip! My boys love character meals, and we generally include at least one or two on each trip. In my experience, other than at princess character meals, most children dine in their regular "park ware". I have occasionally seen a few boys dressed up like pirates, and guessed that they included a visit to the new Pirates League on their itinerary for the day. (This is a wonderful special attraction by the way, and my boys loved their visit last August!) If your son is interested in dressing up, by all means encourage him, but he absolutely won't feel left out in regular clothing.
Have a magical trip! Tanya
