I will arrive to Sofitel London Heathrow Hotel the day before we head to port. I will miss the DCL help desk since I will arrive after their hours. I already bought the transfer, will bell service pick up my luggage in the morning? What should I do?

    Ahoy there, Stephanie!

Welcome back to planDisney! Can you believe you are just hours away from hopping on the plane so you and your crew can enjoy a transatlantic sailing on the Disney Dream? After all the planning that goes into a cruise like this, I know the last thing you want is for a little pre-cruise luggage question to become the villain of your vacation before the opening credits even roll!

If it hasn’t already hit your email inbox, you should receive an email from Disney Cruise Line in the next day or so with all those important instructions for your Disney ground transportation. That email should spell out exactly what you need to do with your luggage, including when and where it will be picked up, along with the time and location where you’ll need to meet your Disney transportation team in the morning.

Because you are arriving after the help desk has closed, I would definitely read those instructions carefully before turning in for the night. I would also make sure your luggage is tagged exactly as instructed and ready to go according to the information Disney provides.

Since you are arriving after hours, I would also check with the hotel’s front desk when you arrive to see if there are any special instructions. They may not have all the details about your specific transfer, but they can usually let you know when Disney Cruise Line representatives will be available in the morning and where you should go to meet them. Sometimes they may even have a few extra blank luggage tags available should you need them.

And if that email does not arrive by the end of tomorrow, I would give Disney Cruise Line a call before you travel. They can help track down the transportation instructions and make sure you know exactly what to do on embarkation morning. A little extra peace of mind now is much better than spending the evening before your cruise wondering what embarkation day will look like.

I hope this helps take some of the mystery out of your luggage plans and lets you enjoy the excitement of your transatlantic adventure without worrying about your bags going on their own adventure. With your instructions in hand, you’ll be ready to let the magic set sail while the Disney Dream takes care of the rest!

Sea ya real soon as summer waves goodbye and autumn magic begins to shine,
