We will arrive @ our resort in the afternoon, but I don't want to go to the parks. what are other fun things to keep a 7 and 8 year old entertained?

There are plenty of things to do outside of the parks to sprinkle a bit of magic on the first day of your trip!  Here are some suggestions:

    - Head to the transportation and ticket center to board the monorail for a trip around the world.
    - Take in a round of miniature golf at one of the two courses on property.
    - Go to Downtown Disney and pick up a pin lanyard and starter set for future trading.
    - Grab a bite to eat at Beaches & Cream - treat the girls to a Kitchen Sink.
    - Explore the Polynesian resort and pick a spot on the beach to watch Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant.
    - Rent a surrey bike at Disney's Boardwalk Inn.
    - Take a horse drawn carriage ride through the Port Orleans Riverside resort.

Surely one of these activities will kick your celebration off to a great start!

Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
