Hello Jenita!
What an exciting day! It’s the start of your vacation and I’m so excited for you.
Since Main Street U.S.A. is in Magic Kingdom Park, you won’t be able to stroll that street today. However, there are plenty of fun things to do at the Walt Disney World Resort without even stepping foot into a theme park. Since you're staying at Disney's Pop Century Resort, you're in a prime location to explore some fantastic options nearby.
We love to experience a ride on
Disney Skyliner Transportation. This is a must-do experience. You can catch it right from Disney's Pop Century Resort and take a scenic journey through the sky to various destinations, including Disney's Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, Disney's Riviera Resort, and Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. It offers stunning views and a unique perspective.
Since you don’t have Theme Park tickets for today, I suggest checking out one of my favorite Disney Resorts Collection hotels,
Disney’s Riviera Resort. The architecture and landscaping are beautiful. You may find some lawn games such as Connect 4. If you need a refreshing beverage,
Bar Riva has some tasty beverages and even some delicious sandwiches and salads. Another great dining option is
Primo Piatto, I enjoy the Hearth Baked Pizzas.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is another nearby resort with a stop on the Disney Skyliner Transportation line that is worth exploring. This Resort hotel boasts an island vibe with lush grounds and plenty of places to relax. My favorite thing to do is relax on a hammock on Caribbean Cay. You can also grab a bite to eat at Sebastian’s Bistro where there isn’t a shortage of Caribbean flavor.
Another great place to experience is
Disney Springs. Here you will find an array of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. You can spend hours exploring the various stores, from the massive World of Disney store to unique boutiques offering everything from Disney merchandise to high-end fashion. When hunger strikes, there seem to be endless choices of dining options ranging from quick bites to gourmet meals. Two of my favorites are The Polite Pig and Morimoto Asia. If you decide to visit later in the evening, don't miss out on the live entertainment that often fills the streets, adding to the lively atmosphere.
Lastly, if you want to just hang out at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, spend some time in the Hippy Dippy Pool, check out the Pop Century Campfire Activities, located near Surfer Goofy each night, where you can roast marshmallows, and lastly enjoy a Movie under the stars. Check the resort schedule for updated daily activities and times.
Overall, there's no shortage of fun to be had at the Walt Disney World Resort, even outside of the theme parks.
I hope that you have the best vacation ever!
~Heather
