We will arrive about 2-3pm and want to drive to Disney Springs before checking into our resort, or on maybe another afternoon. We have a 5 and 7 year old (girls) and want to know the best places to shop and explore with them, especially with DVC discounts?

Hi Jessica and welcome to planDisney! Like you, I love visiting Disney Springs the day we arrive at Walt Disney World. It’s a great way to ease into a Disney vacation and gives you the perfect opportunity to get the latest merchandise before your hit the parks. Now let’s help you plan out your Disney Springs visit!

As a father of a 5 year old daughter myself, I hope these recommendations will work for you and your family. Jessica, I’ll also have you know that all of these locations also offer discounts for Disney Vacation Club Members!

    • Disney Ever After (located in Town Center): This store sells some unique merchandise inspired by Disney characters. One of their best selling items is their customizable headbands! The store carries an assortment of mini plush characters to swap in and out for the headband as you wish. We bought our daughter one and we visit this shop every trip to let her pick out a new mini plush to accessorize her headband.
    • Splitsville Luxury Lanes (located in the West Side): This bowling alley has special DVC Member Nights on Monday nights that includes two hours of bowling, shoe rentals, food and special bowling socks. Reservations can be made by calling Member Services. If you won’t be arriving on a Monday night, don’t worry! They still offer dining discounts for meals there.
    • Aerophile - The World Leader in Balloon Flight (located in the West Side): If your daughters are adventurous and want to soar high above Disney Springs, I recommend a ride in this helium balloon! DVC Members are eligible for a discount of up to $10 off tickets in the morning.
    • The Polite Pig (located in Town Center): This BBQ joint serves up some delicious meats and great sides that your daughters are sure to love. Our little one loves the mac and cheese here and surprisingly eats her veggies whenever we order the Brussels sprouts and roasted beets!
    • The Art Corner by Artistic Talent Group (located in the Marketplace): While the DVC discount is limited to art supplies, you may want to check out some of the interactive experiences this store offers, especially if your daughters are into arts and crafts. Creating Spin Art is certainly fun and is also a very unique souvenir idea!
This is just a sample of the many experiences Disney Springs has to offer. If you’re interested in the complete list of locations that offer DVC discounts at Disney Springs, I’ve included a handy link for you here! If you need a break from all the shopping and dining, don’t forget to check out the Gateway to Discovery - A Disney Vacation Club Welcome Home Center, located in Town Center. There’s some light snacks and a soda machine available for Members and you can also talk to Cast Members about the latest Resorts and offerings.

Jessica, I hope this information is helpful for you as your plan out your arrival to Walt Disney World. If you have any further questions about your upcoming trip, please feel free to contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!
