We will arrive in Orlando on Monday, April 27 at 10;15 am. What is the best way to use the time for this day considering we will have to get to our resort (All-Star Music) to check in, etc. Also, any suggestions for the best order to visit the parks?

    Greetings Alan,
Arrival day can certainly be a conundrum, and there are a variety of ways to look at it. Some folks like to hit the ground running and go directly to one of the theme parks. For my family the travel day is stressful, so we prefer to keep things low-key. If I was arriving late morning, I would check into the resort hotel and grab a bite to eat at the Intermission Food Court. Your room may not be ready, but the friendly Cast Members with bell services will be happy to hang on to your bags for you. Of course, if you are using Disney’s Magical Express, your bags will be delivered directly to your room. For those reasons, I suggest you pack a day bag. Include your swimwear in the day bag and you can relax by the pool while waiting for your room. I would top the day off with a visit to Downtown Disney. There you will find an array of dining and shopping options. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat, but not as demanding as visiting a park. I highly suggest dinner at Earl of Sandwich- it is one my family’s absolute favorites. Turn in early, because you will want to be energized when you hit the parks the next day!

So, what order to visit the parks? I usually determine this by two factors: the age of your children and your family’s tolerance for early mornings. Since you're staying at a Disney resort hotel you can take advantage of Extra Magic Hours, which means arriving pretty early or staying pretty late. If you're ok with early starts, I would visit a park that has Extra Magic Hours each morning. If you're like me, and prefer extra sleep, I recommend avoiding the parks with Extra Magic Hours. No matter which park you visit first, I am certain you are going to have a magical day!

    See ya real soon!
