We arrive on 2/11 and are not going to a park day 1 b/c of a long travel day w/our children, ages 5 and 3. We'd like to do something from about 2pm until bedtime that does not involve a park. We are part of the meal plan - recommendations? Thx, Eileen

    Hi Eileen,

How about visiting Downtown Disney?  it has over 20 stores to wander through, and the World of Disney is the largest Disney merchandise store filled with so much to explore.  The Lego Imagination Center has an outdoor play area for children as well as many Lego sculptures to see and have fun taking pictures with.  My sons also enjoy Once Upon a Toy and Goofy's Candy Company.  In addition to the shopping, there are some restaurants that participate in the dining plan:  Wolfgang Puck's Express - Marketplace, Wolfgang Puck's Cafe, Earl of Sandwich, Planet Hollywood, and Cap'n Jack's Restaurant.  It may also be fun to spend the afternoon at Downtown Disney and then take a bus to the Polynesian for dinner at 'Ohana that is part of the meal plan and family friendly.  If your family still has some energy left, you could wander down to the Seven Seas Lagoon to watch the fireworks and electrical water pageant.  I'm not sure what resort you are staying at; but to return to your resort, you'd simply need to go to the Magic Kingdom by monorail or boat and then transfer to your resort's bus.
