Hi! When we arrive on our 1st night, do we have to use our DDP or can we pay our dinner with a credit card? Also, if our DDP doesn't come with an appetizer, can we still order one and pay the difference with credit card? I hope I made sense!! Thx!!!!

    Hi, Amy!

You are never required to use your Disney Dining Plan credits at any meal. Feel free to save them up for future meals that perhaps will give you better value.  For example, I never use my Quick Service credits for breakfast.  I would prefer to use these credits for a more expensive meal at lunch or dinner.

On the flip side of that, make sure you do not have credits left at the end of your vacation!  Credits expire at midnight of the day you check-out of your resort.  You will want to plan accordingly.

Anything that you order that is not included with your dining credit (appetizers, alcoholic beverages, specialty drinks) will be itemized on your bill and you can pay for these with cash, credit, or charge back to your room.

I hope you have some fabulous meals in Walt Disney World!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
