Can I arrive 2 -2.5 hours early before my reservation at the cake bake shop? I am driving from Tampa and don’t want to be late plus I wanted to do a little shopping at the boardwalk.

    Hi, Lynn! Welcome to planDisney.

Disney’s BoardWalk is such a fun spot to spend time. It has this relaxed, old-timey charm that makes it perfect for browsing shops, grabbing a snack, or just enjoying the views around Crescent Lake. It’s not as busy as the parks, but still has that unmistakable Disney feel. A great place to unwind before a meal!

The good news is that you can definitely plan to arrive 2 to 2.5 hours before your reservation at The Cake Bake Shop. Since you’re driving in from Tampa, giving yourself some buffer time makes total sense. Just let the security Cast Member at the entrance know you have a dining reservation and want to explore Disney’s BoardWalk a bit beforehand. They’re usually pretty understanding, especially if parking isn’t at capacity.

If the timing works out, take the short walk over to Disney’s Beach Club resort and pop into Beaches & Cream Soda Shop to grab a milkshake. It’s just across the water and makes for a nice little pre-dinner stroll. Plus, it gives you a fun peek at another beautiful Disney resort.
