We will arrive on Feb 4 for our first trip and have not told our 3 and 5 year old yet. We have heard there is a way for "Mickey and Minnie" to send them a postcard telling the kids they are excited to see them. Do you know how to do this or is it

    Hi Aimee,

I am not familiar with any "official" ways to have a postcard regarding your upcoming vacation sent from Mickey and Minnie, but I have done this within my family for years.  Typically, a three- and five-year-old are not savvy enough to check the postmark on the mail, so I either make a cool card or letter with Disney stickers and mail it myself or I ask my son's grandparents to mail it from out-of-state.  My son has always been excited to receive mail from Mickey.

Another really fun way to announce your upcoming trip is to have a friend or neighbor put a big shipping box on your porch addressed to your children.  Inside the box, have a mylar Disney balloon with a special message tied to the end of the string.  (Make sure your kids open the box inside so the balloon doesn't escape).  You're going to want to have a video camera rolling to catch their reaction to the announcement.

Best wishes and have fun with your surprise!
