Yay! Welcome, Sophie! Ah, October at Walt Disney World! You're in for a treat, especially for your first visit. Let me paint a picture of what's in store.
Halloween Festivities: October is when the Halloween season is in full swing at Disney World. Magic Kingdom Park hosts
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on select nights, featuring special parades, fireworks, and character meet-and-greets in Halloween attire. The Park is decked out in spooky decor (more on that in a second), with themed treats and attractions.
Throughout Walt Disney World, you'll find charming autumnal decorations with pumpkins, fall foliage, and other seasonal touches. Seriously, our American pals know how to celebrate, and this is set to add an extra layer of magic to your visit.
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be running during your visit and is a foodie's dream come true. Sample delicious cuisine and beverages from around the world at various outdoor kitchens scattered throughout the World Showcase. There are also cooking demonstrations and live music to bop along to.
Of course, no visit to Disney World would be complete without experiencing some iconic attractions. Be sure to check out classics like
Space Mountain and
Soarin' Around the World as well as newer additions like
Avatar Flight of Passage and
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. All are totally mind-blowing.
Meeting your favourite Disney characters is a must-do experience, especially for first-time visitors. Keep an eye out for character meet-and-greets throughout the Parks, or consider booking a character dining experience like
The Crystal Palace for a memorable encounter while swapping a queue for delicious dining.
Overall, October is a fantastic time to visit Walt Disney World, with plenty of festive celebrations, seasonal offerings, and magical experiences waiting for you. Ok, I've rambled on long enough, but just one more tip before I go. Don't forget to take a minute (lots of minutes) to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. There's always a temptation to do it ALL on Disney adventures. But my top insider tip is that it's impossible to 'complete' Disney, so enjoy the magic right where you are.
Have the BEST first visit to Walt Disney World, Sophie. Something tells me it won't be the last!
Louise
P.S. One more! Don't forget to explore the amenities and activities at your Disney Resort hotel. You'll find outdoor movie nights and other fun experiences!
