Arrive early am on 11/17 to AOA, Reservations @ Chef Mickey @ 5:40. Any ideas for what to do all day, not using park tickets, first time visit with two boys, age 3 and 6. 6 yr old's b-day on this day. Also, how early to leave AOA for Chef Mickey?

    Hi, Felicia!

Chef Mickey's for dinner is a great way to spend your first evening in Walt Disney World.  Your boys are going to love it!

I do not think you are going to have any trouble filling up your first day.  You can keep it as simple as hanging at your resort, swimming, exploring all the different areas, and checking out the lobby food court and gift shop.

If you want to leave your resort for a bit, you can take a bus to Downtown Disney for lunch and some shopping.  Here you will find everything from the Lego Store, to the huge World of Disney Store to a Rainforest Cafe and even a movie theater.

When it is time for your dinner with your Disney Pals, hop on the bus at Art of Animation to the Magic Kingdom then walk over to the Contemporary.  Allow at least 45 minutes travel time.  When you get to the Contemporary, head to the 4th Floor where your fun night awaits!  If you decide to go right from Downtown Disney to your dinner, just hop on a bus that will take you directly to the Contemporary.

Have a great time at Art of Animation and say "HI" to Mickey for me!  Also, wish the Birthday Boy a very magical birthday!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
