Hi there, Peter,
Welcome back to planDisney! I see that you have been putting the finishing touches on your magical visit this month. I just returned from the Disneyland Resort yesterday, and I can attest that you are in for an unforgettable vacation. The happy haunts of
Halloween Time will be out and about by your arrival next week, and the seasonal treats will be at the ready to satisfy anyone's sweet tooth!
You are going to love staying in the magic at the
Disneyland Hotel. I spent quite a bit of time there last week, including an afternoon at the
Broken Spell Lounge. This quiet and cozy spot just off the lobby and next to Goofy's Kitchen does not take reservations, which is likely why you are having a hard time making a booking. It is first-come, first-served, and is typically open from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM. If you head that way on the earlier side, close to opening, you will likely find a table pretty easily. It is a small venue and does get quite popular as the evening goes on, as Guests like to stop by on their way back from the parks or on their way out to enjoy a late nighttime spectacular. The cocktail menu is truly an event in and of itself - I recommend the "Make it Blue, Make it Pink" to stay on theme with a side of Parmesan fries!
When you check in, be sure to pick up a list of
resort activities for the week. I often find that there is something magical happening right at the resort itself, like an outdoor showing of a Disney classic! Since you are staying at the Villas, make an arrival day reservation at
Palm Breeze Bar for a welcoming meal in a beautiful setting. My planDisney pals and I were just there last weekend - I highly recommend the
Jumbo Lump Crab Roll!
Peter, I'm wishing you a magical visit and will send some pixie dust in the air in the hope that you will find yourself enjoying Broken Spell Lounge next week! If you have any more questions, we are always here with a friendly tip or two at
planDisney.
Magic awaits!
Tara
