We will arrive at Disney World on Oct. 5. I read that the MK Railroad will be closed during our visit. Any idea what type of Opening Ceremony they will have during the closure?

    Hi Nancy!

It sounds like you're an early bird just like me. Not only do I enjoy getting a jump on the crowds, but I also love starting the day off with the Magic Kingdom Welcome Show. (No joke - I often catch myself humming the tune of that song.)

Speaking of the welcome show, you asked a great question. I remember seeing versions of the welcome show when the train did not come rolling down the track in the middle of the performance. (If I recall, one of the trains was parked on the tracks during the entire performance.)

I wish I had more of an inside scoop on this, but if the Magic Kingdom Railroad is undergoing a refurbishment, I'm sure there will still be a fun way to welcome guests to the Magic Kingdom during your visit. You know what they say....the show must go on!

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

If you want to take great pictures or video of the Magic Kingdom Welcome Show, make sure you stand on the far right side of the promenade (as you're facing the train station platform). From that side, the early morning sun will be at your back as you take your pictures/video. If you stand on the left side, you may have trouble with the sun washing out your pictures/video.

I hope that helps! If you should have any additional questions, please feel free to write back and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can. Otherwise, I'll be walking right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A.!

    Best regards,
    Derek
