    We arrive at Disney in under 2 weeks and we're super excited! We purchased a dining package and were wondering 2 things: can we "downgrade" a table meal to a fast food meal? and how far in advance do we need to reserve at somewhere like Marrakesh

    Wow, Elizabeth!  I'd be excited too if I had plans to be at Walt Disney World in less than two weeks.

    I'm so pleased to hear that you'll be using the Disney Dining Plan during your upcoming trip.  My family members are huge fans of the Disney Dining Plan.  I think you'll really enjoy the flexibility and savings that characterize the Disney Dining Plan. 

    Technically, table service credits on the Disney Dining Plan cannot be used at quick service restaurants.  That being said, I have heard guests recount stories about restaurant managers making exceptions for them and allowing them to redeem a table service credit at a quick service restaurant.  However, even if this is permitted, I would discourage you from doing this.  It is not a cost-effective use of your Disney Dining Plan credits.  Table service meals typically cost two to three times more than the average quick service meal.  If possible, lay out a plan for your vacation that will allow you to redeem all of your table service credits at table service restaurants.  Then you won't be wasting your resources and you won't be disappointed if your table service credits are declined at a quick service restaurant.

    While guests can make reservations at Disney table service restaurants 180 days in advance by calling (407) WDW-DINE, you are welcome to call any time within that window.  Since the Restaurant Marrakesh is a hidden gem among Disney restaurants, last minute reservations can often be had at this location.
