We will arrive at our Disney resort the first thing in the morning and drop off our luggage. Our hotel checkin time is 3 PM. Will the receptionist activate our magic bands so we can get to the theme park the first thing in the morning?

Welcome back to planDisney, Philip! I'm glad that I can answer another question for you today about your early morning arrival to Walt Disney World Resort.

I have great news for you, Philip! If your MagicBand was shipped to you as a part of your vacation package, it is active, connected to your My Disney Experience account, and ready to be used to enter the Theme Parks first thing in the morning when you arrive. There's nothing additional that you have to do, and you don't need to speak with a Cast Member to activate your MagicBands, they're already good to go! If you purchased your MagicBand from or a merchandise location, there are instructions inside the packaging that give you step-by-step instructions to link your MagicBands yourself, but I think it's likely that your MagicBands are already connected!

If you want to double-check to make sure that your MagicBands are ready to be used, you can click on the "My MagicBands and Cards" link in the dropdown menu on the My Disney Experience website. You'll be able to see all of your active MagicBands, and whatever is listed there can be used interchangeably for the duration of your trip! If you have any questions or are having any issues with your MagicBands, a Cast Member at the front desk of your Resort Hotel will be happy to help you sort it all out when you arrive.

    Have a magical day, Philip!
