We arrive a day early for 8-25 sailing to Alaska. We want to rent a car for the day. What's the best way to handle dropping off our car and getting to the cruise terminal. I don't want to spend the $$$ for a taxi or uber-esque transportation.

Hello Karen, and welcome to planDisney!

I have so many wonderful memories from our Disney Alaskan cruise! From the moment we arrived in Vancouver to our journey home, everything felt truly magical. You’re going to love it! I highly recommend exploring the amazing Port Adventures available on the Disney Wonder as soon as possible. There are so many fantastic options. It will be tough to choose, but you can’t go wrong with any of them!

Arriving a day early is a great idea! Not only will you be ready to board first thing in the morning, but you’ll also have time to explore Vancouver. One of my favorite places to visit in Vancouver was Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. They even offer a free shuttle from Canada Place, which is conveniently where you’ll board your ship. If you’re looking to rent a car, try searching online for “Vancouver port car rental.” The closest rental location I know of is accessible via the Pan Pacific Vancouver Hotel, one of Disney’s recommended pre/post-cruise hotels. The Pan Pacific is at the cruise port. There are also a few other options within walking distance of the port.

    Wishing you a magical adventure!
