Hello Amanda,
My family usually spends our first night at Disney taking it easy. And that always means having a fantastic dinner somewhere!
Are you and your family renting a car from the airport? If so, your commute from MCO to your Resort will take about half an hour. But don't forget to allot time for a pit stop at the car rental desk and baggage claim.
Because you are a Disney Resort Guest, you have the option of taking Disney's Magical Express. Not
only is it free, but you can skip
baggage claim! From my experience at that time of day, once you land, check-in at the DME Welcome Center, and ride your motor coach, it's just about an hour.
Some other things you'll want to remember is that you still need to check-in at the Resort front desk and you'll probably want a few minutes to sit down once you get in your room! Then you have to factor in your commute time to the restaurant.
So if you're looking to have dinner that evening, I would either suggest hitting the Quick Service restaurant at Pop Century or consider going to
Downtown Disney. There are plenty of places - Quick and Table Service - from which to choose. And depending on the time of year, I think you can get away with walking up without a reservation. I think by the time you're ready to eat, you would have missed the dinner rush!
Hope this helps! Good luck!
