Hiya, Kevin!
Thank you for sending this
Disneyland Resort vacation planning question to us hEAR at planDisney!
On behalf of my
Panel Pals, please allow me to say a big, double ears chEARs and 'Thank You' for your service! I'm an Air Force wife, and I'm very familiar with all of the ins and outs of the various Disney Military Discounts. There are essentially two different options:
~ Guests who are currently Active Duty, Reservists, Fully Retired after 20 years or more of service, or who have a service-connected disability rating of 100% from any of the U.S. service branches are eligible to purchase the
3 and 4-Day Disneyland Military Promotional Park Hopper Tickets, also sometimes known as the Disney Military Salute Tickets. This offer is one released by Mickey himself, however, it's only currently available for purchase on U.S. Military Installations. Do note that not every base/post ticket office sells these passes, so it's best to call before you drive over. If your nEARest location isn't that close, or if they don't carry these tickets, the rumor is that the ticket office at Camp Pendleton sells them over the phone and can mail them to those who are stationed or live elsewhere.
~ Guests who
do not qualify for the multi-day Salute passes above might be eligible for slightly discounted regular tickets, also only sold at ITT/MWR locations. To find a price list for these options, Google the name of the bases in your area + 'ticket office'; once on the base website, look for an 'Attraction and Tours Price Sheet'. (If I'm being honest, the discount on the two and three-day tickets isn't worth the 120-mile round-trip drive to my closest base.) These slightly discounted tickets
can be purchased by anyone who can get on base by themselves, including those with an updated VHIC from the VA as part of the 'John McCain Disabled Veterans Act'. Another good thing about these tickets is that anyone can use them, unlike the Salute tickets which need to be purchased
and used by someone who has a qualifying Military ID, so if you can't purchase these passes you'll be able to ask someone else to pick them up on your behalf. I've actually purchased these tix and given them to my dear Disney friends
Kristin C. and
Veronica O. who had zero problems using them without me present.
Bonus Tip: Don't forget that all tickets, no matter where they were purchased, must have a
Park Pass Reservation booked in advance for their desired Disney days.
I hope that this helped to clEAR up your question, Kevin! Be sure to follow the
