Hi there, Sydney,
"
Oh, bother." I’m sorry to hear about your stolen ID. I hope that you are able to get that situation cleared up without much worry.
Here is the information about
identification requirements for purchasing alcoholic beverages at the Disneyland Resort. As a resident of the United States, you will need a government-issued ID card that includes your name, date of birth, description, photo, and expiration date indicating it is still valid. Alternative forms of ID that are also accepted include a currently valid United States Armed Forces ID card that includes a photo and date of birth or a valid original passport. Photocopies and temporary licenses or IDs are not acceptable.
My state also recently began offering mobile IDs. I was excited about the added convenience it would provide me when checking into the security screening at some airports. But on a recent Walt Disney World Resort vacation, I learned the hard way that not every place is equipped to accept electronic or mobile versions of government-issued IDs. I was still waiting for my new driver's license after a recent renewal. Unfortunately, the rental car company we used could not accept the electronic ID I had on my mobile phone as a valid license for their purposes in Florida. Oh boy! I’m sure grateful my wife had her valid license so we could have a vehicle issued to her instead.
Because the Disneyland Resort alcohol policy only states that government-issued ID cards or passport books are accepted, and they likely aren’t equipped with the necessary technology to authenticate mobile IDs from the various jurisdictions in the nation, I’m afraid you won’t be able to count on using your phone to verify your eligibility to purchase adult beverages. If your replacement driver’s license hasn’t arrived yet before you head to the Disneyland Resort, I recommend carrying another accepted form of ID. If you have a military ID with your birthdate or a valid passport, those would likely be best.
If you don’t happen to have another valid form of ID, I imagine that might not be the news you were hoping to receive from me. But if that should be the case, I hope you’ll still look forward to the many other delicious and fun beverages to be enjoyed at the Disneyland Resort. Some of my favorite mocktails and zero-proof beverages include the 2319 or the Goofball Island from
Lamplight Lounge, the Blurrgfire or Blue Bantha from
Oga’s Cantina, or the Polynesian Punch or Schweitzer Falls from
Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar. Honorary mention goes to the deliciously sweet
Memory Refreshers at
Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff or New Orleans Mint Juleps from the
Mint Julep Bar. Both of those options are also conveniently available via
mobile food and beverage orders.
With or without your ID, I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort, Sydney. If you have any more questions, I hope you visit us again here at planDisney.
