Hi. We aren't staying on Disney property, but would love to have breakfast at the Grand Floridian and ride the monorail afterward. Can we just Uber to the GFloridian? I have a reservation for the breakfast through the Disney app. Thanks!

    Hi Nancy, welcome to planDisney!

The latest edition of the planDisney podcast is all about the best things to do outside the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. Exploring the Disney Resorts Collection is one of my favorite pastimes, and breakfast at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa certainly checks that magical box.

You can definitely take a rideshare vehicle to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa for your breakfast reservation, Nancy. In my experience, you may be asked to scan your MagicBand or give your name to confirm the dining reservation at the resort's security gate. Depending on where the spirit of adventure takes you, you can request a return ride from any of the resorts on the Resort monorail loop (Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort).

Something tells me you're headed to the most elegant supplier of Mickey waffles, the Grand Floridian Cafe. When you enter the Grand Floridian, take a deep breath (trust me, it smells incredible!) and a picture or two. The resort is in the process of remodeling its iconic lobby, but elegance and grandeur are present throughout the renovations. Take the hallway from the back left of the lobby to your dining destination. You can check in for your reservation using the My Disney Experience mobile app if you have push notifications enabled. After your meal, take the stairs or lobby elevator up to the second floor for a ride on the Resort monorail. On your way, be sure to stop by Basin White for some scent-sational souvenirs.

A few of my other favorite Disney Resort hotel dining options include Steakhouse 71 at Disney's Contemporary Resort, 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Sebastian's Bistro at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. Sebastian's Bistro pairs nicely with a ride on the Disney Skyliner

I hope your breakfast at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is practically perfect in every way, Nancy. If you have any other trip-planning questions, you know where to find us.

    Plan magic; planDisney.
