Are there many areas for handicap visitors to rest or have seated scooters available at the park to rest tired knees and joints?

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there, Carol!

Welcome to planDisney, I can’t believe you are almost there! Princess Tiana would be pleased to hear how soon your arrival is.

Breaks are super important to my family when we visit. We like to sit, enjoy a snack, and soak in the magic we’ve already experienced throughout the day. And honestly, you can do this just about anywhere! We usually like to find a table and grab a treat when we sit and rest. Of course, you can also find benches and different seating areas throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

You might even be interested in renting an EVC to enjoy during your visit. When it comes to renting an Electric Conveyance Vehicle, you have a few options. You can rent them at any of the theme parks or at Disney Springs. You also have the option to rent it through Disney’s Featured Provider, ScooterBug. However, since your trip is so close, I recommend giving them a call rather than reserving online, if this is the route you decided to go.

My family will be using ScooterBug during our next visit. We had an unexpected injury and decided to continue with our plans rather than reschedule. We went with a ScooterBug rental instead of renting in the parks. That way, my husband could continue to cruise all the way back to our room. He’s ready to hit the ground running, but we agreed that preserving his energy during this trip might be the safest option.

I will say, if you normally walk with a cane or even a walking stick, bring it with you! On our visit in March, my dad brought his walking stick to help him get through the trip. We did take plenty of snacks and sit breaks, so those options helped as well. TIP: The best place to take a rest is during a live show. His favorite rest location was in Hollywood Studios during the Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. His reasoning, the air conditioner and seeing my daughter light up when Elsa was on stage.

Carol, I hope this helps ease your worries. Enjoy every minute of this magical visit, and if there’s anything else we can help with, you know where to find us!

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
