Ahoy there, Diane! Welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so glad you're looking to escape this crazy Midwestern Winter that just won't let go of us this year to an amazing Disney Cruise Line vacation on the Disney Dream! What a great change of pace - would you mind bringing back some warmer weather?
When it comes to the thrill factor of the AquaDuck - I'd place it as a solid five on the unofficial planDrew Stomach-Drop-O-Meter (patent pending). Its thrills come more from the fun of going uphill on a waterslide and a quick excursion over the side of the ship in a see-through portion right after you start! If your little castaways have been on any of the family slides at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon or Disney's Blizzard Beach, I think they'll be in good shape! But you know your little sailors best, so while I definitely think they'd enjoy it, you might want to ride it first!
Here's a planDrew-approved tip: be sure to line up right when it opens or while the ship is in-port to keep the wait as short as possible! I like to ride it while the ship is in Nassau, myself, it's really fun looking out from the tube and watching the port come alive! A few other tips to remember:
- Guests must be 42" or taller to ride AquaDuck; single riders must be 54" or taller.
- Guests must also be 7 years or older to ride alone; kids under 7 must ride with someone 14 years of age or older, provided the child is at least 42" tall.
- No snorkel equipment or swim masks are permitted.
- Loose items such as sunglasses, mobile phones and cameras are not permitted on AquaDuck.
Now that's totally different than the AquaDUNK on the Disney Magic - which is a solid 8 or 9 on the unofficial planDrew Stomach-Drop-O-Meter! I've done it twice, and let me tell you that is a THRILL.
While
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is more about the relaxing and pampering your daughter will get, I'm sure she'll be 10-out-of-10 thrilled with her experience with her new Fairy Godparent! Unfortunately, I'm sorry to report that drying hair is not currently part of the experience due to health and safety protocols…but, this is always subject to change! I'd check with Guest Services or Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on board when you arrive on the ship! I hope a little bit of pixie dust comes your way on this front!
Well, in the words of Captain Mickey, "Haha, Gosh!" I hope you and your crew have an incredible time this Summer making magical memories aboard your sailing. Thank you so much for your question, Diane, and if any others bubble to the surface, please drop us another line here at planDisney!
Until then, keep a weather eye on the horizon - there's an adventure waiting just beyond the World's End!
