    On April 9th, we have booked to eat at Chef Mickey and then do the Pirates and pals afterwards. We are staying at Bueana Vista Palace real close to Downtown. What is the best way to get to the contemporary resport from there and back? With tired 5y old.

    My boys and I just returned from a Spring Break Disney trip, and followed your plan exactly!  We had a fantastic, fun-filled character meal at Chef Mickey's and then headed off on a Pirates and Pals Fireworks cruise, after having a private meet-and-greet with Captain Hook and Smee.  It was the perfect ending to a wonderful Disney day.  I'm sure your little pirate with have an incredible time. Both Chef Mickey's and the meeting place for the cruise are located at the Contemporary. If you are concerned that your son will be tired by the end of the evening and you don't have a rental car, I'd recommend taking a taxi back to your resort off-property.  Given it's proximity, it should cost between $15-20.  The Cast Members at the front of the Contemporary will gladly help you secure a taxi for your ride "home."  Have a magical trip!
