What is the approximate time to expect to travel between point A and point B around the WDW property? I know it also depends on where those points are but can you give me an idea of how much time to allow when traveling?

    Hi Shannon,

Walt Disney World is approximately 40 square miles in size. The transportation time estimates will have huge variance depending on where you're going. For example, going from the Grand Floridian to the Magic Kingdom via monorail will take about four minutes, while going from the Fort Wilderness to the Animal Kingdom Lodge could take as long as 45 minutes to an hour.

I'm going to point you over to an independent website called ourlaughingplace.com. Look there for the "Transportation Wizard" this will give you estimates of point-to-point travel time. There are also specific travel time estimates in the book The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World which compare/contrast travel time using Disney transportation vs. driving your own car.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
