Welcome BACK, Amie!!
It's so great to see you again! Thank you so much for sending another fantastic Disney Parks vacation planning question to us hEAR at planDisney. I'm happy to be your planEAR today.
I love
Character dining, probably more than anyone else in my family. Not only have we been to all three of these options, I'm looking at our pictures from these merry meals (for resEARch purposes) and smiling from ear to ear thinking of how much fun we had. Do note that character appearances can change without warning or prior notice. However, based on my experience
Storytellers Cafe hosts "Mickey's Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet" and features our favorite friends Mickey, Minnie and Pluto along with Chip and Dale. The outfits our pals wear range from adventure troupe uniforms to very fashionable exploration get-ups. The time we went to
Goofy's Kitchen we saw Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, Chip, and Dale. While the name is 'Goofy's Kitchen', everyone was dressed in fun chef attire. And lastly,
Minnie & Friends Breakfast in the Park at Plaza Inn is loaded with friends wearing their traditional outfits. In addition to Minnie, we saw a few pals from the Hundred Acre Woods (Pooh and Eeyore), Chip and Dale, Cinderella's Fairy Godmother, and a few rare characters from Pinocchio. In talking with my panelist friends, it seems that this location really is good about rotating various surprise pals, so aside from Minnie, you truly never know who you'll have breakfast with here.
In terms of menus, I truly do love the offerings at all three of these locations as they all feature some Disney classics but also their own specialties. Because you're familiar with Walt Disney World Resort, I will say that Goofy's Kitchen reminds me a lot of Chef Mickey's. But the menu is probably the best if you have any picky eaters as it has multiple kinds of pizza (their claim to fame is peanut butter and jelly pizza - I was actually thinking of trying to make this one at home the other day) as well as chicken nuggets. And you can't beat the location, which is in the iconic and treasure-filled
Disneyland Hotel. Minnie's breakfast at Plaza Inn reminds me very much of The Crystal Palace, both the building as well as the buffet menu items. And do note that to dine here you must have a park admission and
Park Pass Reservation for Disneyland Park in addition to the dining reservation. But my personal favorite of the three is Mickey's Breakfast Adventure because the selections seem more varied for all types of palates. I also love that this location offers a brunch seating, which can work in your favor as this mealtime is often less in demand than breakfast. While I personally prefer to schedule a character meal on a non-park day, I also really like that Storytellers Cafe is steps away from the Disney California Adventure Park side-entrance that is connected to
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa that getting there and back on a DCA day doesn't take up any more time than eating at any other table service reservation.
I hope that this helped to clEAR your dining questions up, Amie! Be sure to follow the
