Welcome to planDisney, Debra!
Thanks for stopping by with your question. One of my favorite parts about The Most Magical Place on Earth is that it is indeed a magical destination for all. This means that there is a way for everyone to join in on the fun!
Let's get into how you may register for the
Disability Access Service (DAS) before your magical vacation even begins:
-Complete a virtual pre-registration for DAS Advance using live video chat. Visit the registration webpage, scroll down, and select "Request Live Video Chat." You may begin this process 2-30 days before your arrival in June.
-During this video call, the Cast Member will determine your eligibility, and you'll be able to book up to two (2) one-hour return windows for theme park attractions'
Lightning Lane use.
OR
-At the start of your vacation, visit Guest Services near each theme park's entrance to speak to a Cast Member to determine your eligibility and set you up for your first Lightning Lane return time.
As you can predict, as a super planner, I highly recommend that you choose the pre-registration option, so that you start your first day with two return time windows for Lightning Lane access versus one. Also, it is better to know before your visit if you are eligible for DAS or not. For example, according to the Walt Disney World Resort website: "A Guest whose disability is based on the necessity to use a wheelchair or scooter does not need DAS. Depending on the experience, Guests utilizing a wheelchair or scooter will either wait in the standard queue or receive a return time at the attraction that is comparable to the current standby wait." If you have any further questions about this, feel free to contact
Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities at disability.services@disneyparks.com.
If you do qualify, DAS benefits are for the entirety of your stay and you may link up to five additional party members. In addition to the return time window(s) the Cast Member sets up for you, you'll be able to select your own using the
My Disney Experience app's DAS Self-Selection Tool. You may also visit a Guest Experience Team Cast Member at the blue umbrellas around each theme park to make your next Lightning Lane selection.
AN EXTRA GEM: Yes, you may rent a wheelchair or electric conveyance vehicle (ECV) at all theme parks, water parks, and
Disney Springs on a first-come, first-served basis. You can find the daily and length-of-stay rentals pricing and information on the
Wheelchair Rentals webpage here.
Debra, I hope that your vacation is full of
Mickey Mouse hugs, joyous fireworks displays, and lively experiences! Please
revisit us here at planDisney with any other Disney vacation planning questions. We're all ears!
Magic always,
LeAndra
