Can I apply for a DAS pass now when my vacation starts on July 1st?

    Hiya Marcia!

Welcome back again to planDisney! I love helping guests find the best way to have the most magical experience at Walt Disney World Resort.

July will be here before you know it and I'm glad you are already planning to Register for DAS. That's a smart move for many people who need it! Disability Access Service or DAS, as you may already know is a service provided to people who due to a disability are unable to handle long queues. Now, just to make it clear, if the disability can be accommodated by having a wheelchair or scooter then DAS is not recommended as the person is asked to wait in the regular queue. DAS registration beforehand can only happen between 2 to 30 days before you arrive in the Parks. So this means that you are a little early to get registered but once you do it is good for up to 60 days. Before you connect to the live chat to register make sure that you are logged into your My Disney Experience account, that your entire travel party is on your Family & Friends list, you have a camera with a microphone turned on and working, and that you have the guest who is requesting DAS present. My friend who tried registering via the live chat told me that he found connecting first thing at 7:00 AM to be the best at getting through quickly.

Make sure to use the My Disney Experience Mobile App while in the Parks to make everything easier. Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering is a game changer and I love using it to avoid waiting inside a long quick-service dining location line while staring at a menu. I love picking out at my own pace and in a comfortable place the food I want to eat. I have a habit of booking all my mobile orders while waiting in a queue and picking more than one location that may be on my upcoming route through the Parks. A sample food tour I would like to suggest is to start with the Corn Dog Nuggets from Casey's Corner in Magic Kingdom Park then make a left and grab an "I Lava You Float" from Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland to wash it down.  You can find me with both hands full of food and enjoying life when in the Parks.  I wish to manifest this for you as well.

I hope you have a wonderful time and feel free to let me know directly if you have any more questions!

Meet the Panelist: Nimmy, New York

Hey, it's Nimmy from New York! Just like my guy Jiminy Cricket I am your wisecracking and helpful guide to making the best decisions for your Disney vacation! My husband and I work very hard to journey to our favorite place on Earth, Walt Disney World Resort, as much as we can. We have traveled as just adults, with babies, kids, teenagers, and senior citizens. We have seen so many characters, eaten at amazing places, and consumed a ton of Dole Whips. So "give a little whistle" and let me be your guide! Learn More About Nimmy
