Hi Heather,
Welcome back to planDisney! It’s always a pleasure to chat with a fellow Floridian.
Heather, as a mom to a neurospicy mouseketeer, I found myself doing exactly this on a visit not too long ago. My kiddo and I were doing our best to navigate the parks without the additional accommodation, but it came to a screeching halt, so I had to hop on a quick chat with a DAS cast member, who was so thorough and kind, and got us the support we needed on the spot! It turned our chaotic day into a very magical one!
So, all that to say,
YES! You can absolutely request this service once you arrive at the theme parks. Although I would strongly recommend, if you are able, setting a time to do your video interview before you arrive. It’s much easier to find a quiet spot at home rather than scrambling for a quiet corner at the parks.
When you’re ready to see if
DAS is the right fit, you’ll start by logging into your
My Disney Experience account on the Walt Disney World website and requesting a live video chat with a Cast Member. The person starting the request must be 18 or older, and the Guest who may need DAS has to be present during the call. You’ll need valid theme park tickets linked in your account before you begin. The chat runs daily from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Eastern, and you’ll need a device with a working camera and microphone.
A last tip before I let you go: I’ve found it best to have a solid exit/break game plan in case we end up overloaded.
Sometimes the magic is so big, exciting, and loud, our kiddos need a reset. Schedule some sit-down meals in quieter restaurants, locate some quiet spots at the parks (they do exist!), and maybe even some mid-day resort breaks when necessary! And feel free to pop back in for any additional specific recommendations. I have loads!
Wishing you the most magical visit! See ya real soon,
Emille
