Welcome to planDisney, Kathleen,
We are so glad you stopped by with your question. As our pal Mickey Mouse likes to say, “there’s big doings going on” at
Walt Disney World Resort, so let’s get started on helping you with the
Disability Access Service (DAS) process!
Disability Access Service (DAS) helps Guests, who find waiting in conventional queues a challenge, to have a more magical vacation. You can pre-register for DAS with a Cast Member as early as 30 days but at least 2 days prior to your park visit via a live video chat on the Walt Disney World website.
Your first stop will be the
Registering for Disability Access Service page on the website. I encourage you to read the information as you scroll down the page to find “Ready to Chat with a Cast Member?” You will need to read and agree to the Terms and Conditions by selecting the blue Terms and Conditions button. Once you have completed that step, you will return to the previous page and will see that the “Request Live Video Chat” button will now be blue. Just click there and you will enter the queue for a live video chat with a Cast Member.
The Cast Member will ask you some questions to help determine if DAS is the most useful accommodation for you. If DAS is right for your situation, you will be offered the opportunity to make
DAS Advance selections before your visit, which is super convenient. You must make advance selections at least 2 days prior to the day you plan to be in the park to redeem them. During the video chat, the Cast Member will help you make these plans. You may make more plans on the day of your visit in the
My Disney Experience app. If you have any questions or concerns on the day of your visit, please ask a member of the
Guest Experience Team (they will be under the blue umbrella and wearing blue) throughout each of the theme parks.
Kathleen, before you begin the video chat, there are a few things that will make things go smoothly. First, add your travel party to your
Friends & Family list and link your theme park admission for everyone in your My Disney Experience. If you need assistance navigating that process after
checking it out on the Walt Disney World website, please don’t hesitate to stop back by planDisney and let us know. Also, be aware that the Guest who is requesting DAS will need to be present on the chat. And of course, make sure you have your video and audio ready to go so you will be on your way with the chat as soon as a Cast Member is available.
Following Walt Disney’s vision to create welcoming places for all Guests,
Walt Disney World Resort offers a variety of special services for Guests with disabilities. I’m excited that you will be making memories soon and hope that your vacation will be one that makes you feel right at home.
If we can assist you in any other way as your vacation draws near,
please come back and let me and my planDisney pals know. We are here to help!
Remember, you are the magic,
Shannon
