Hi Carol,
Welcome to planDisney! As the mama of an Autistic Mouseketeer, we've found the
Disability Access Service (DAS) to be such a blessing for our family. I'm so thankful for Disney's commitment to making the parks accessible for
Guests with disabilities so that they're magical for
everyone!
There are two ways to apply for DAS. The way we've always applied in the past is still an option, and that's to go in-person to a Guest Relations location inside a park to share your concerns about waiting in traditional queues. The Cast Member will ask you a few questions, and if you qualify, they'll get you all set up and you'll be able to make your first selection with them, then use the service one attraction at a time throughout your visit. The other way to apply is brand new, and that is to
preregister via a video chat 2-30 days before your visit. The benefit to applying this way is that you'll be able to schedule two attractions or experiences per day ahead of time with
DAS Advance, then you'll also use the service the traditional way, by requesting return times one at a time. The drawback to the preregistration option is that it's been a super popular option and wait times may currently be several hours long.
However you choose to register, you'll be able to use the
My Disney Experience app to make your return requests once you arrive, which makes using the service easy peasy!
Thanks so much for visiting us at planDisney, Carol, and please let us know if we can help with anything else as you're planning your trip. I hope you have a truly magical vacation!
Missy
