Ahoy there, Michael! It seems like you’re a Disney Cruise Superfan like me, so I’m glad you sailed by planDisney so I can help with your question.
One of the smartest things you can do before disembarking from your current cruise is
putting a Placeholder on a future cruise. That means you have 24 months to book another cruise and take 10% off the prevailing rates on
DisneyCruise.com (as long as they don’t coincide with the Blockout Dates). All you have to do is
call a Cast Member with your Placeholder number to claim your discount. They will also ask you for your desired sailing dates and the details of your sailing party. At that time, you may also need a credit card to put down any additional deposit required or you can pay your balance in full.
Once your next cruise is booked, it’s time to start planning! This is the exciting part of Disney dreaming where you get to research Port Adventures,
book Beverage Tastings, and even schedule a free Character Call. Of course, you can also wait until you’re onboard and make reservations through the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, but your selections may be more limited at that time.
The great thing about booking a Placeholder is that your savings are guaranteed. Even if you don’t book a cruise within 24 months or decide the timing isn’t right, your deposit will be refunded to your original form of payment. Another way I love to save money on my sailings is to keep an eye on the
Special Offers page. However, those discounted rates cannot be combined with your Placeholder discount.
I hope this will help streamline the process of helping you set sail again soon. Should you think of anything else we can help with, don’t hesitate to visit us at
planDisney again!
Bon voyage,
Sami
