Can you apply the amount of the Military Salute ticket towards a magic key pass after redeeming the military ticket? Does the military ID holder need to use a military ticket to redeem military tickets for others in their party?

Hey there, hi there, Traci! We are thrilled you've stopped by planDisney with your question.

It sounds like you are heading to Disneyland Resort very soon! I am happy to share that you can upgrade a Disney Military Promotional Ticket to a Magic Key. When upgrading a ticket to a Magic Key, you just need to make the upgrade before the end of the day on the last day you use the ticket. You can do this at the Main Entrance Ticket Booth. I do remember seeing an option to upgrade mine to a Magic Key in the Disneyland app under the ticket's barcode at one time too, so be sure to look there. Also, just to make a note the first day of your Magic Key will be backdated to the first day you used this ticket.

For your second question, the military member or spouse who purchased these tickets will need to not only be present when activating these tickets but also be using one of the tickets. After the initial first day and activation of these tickets, the military member does not have to be present for the remainder of the days of use of these tickets.

Traci, I think a Magic Key upgrade is a fabulous idea so that you can visit Disneyland a few more times throughout the year. I hope your upcoming trip is full of magic! See you real soon!
