Can I use my Apple Watch to unlock my resort room door?

    Hey, Jim, welcome to planDisney!

Wearable tech is pretty cool, right? I love using my Apple Watch at Walt Disney World Resort to do all kinds of convenient things. At this time, your Apple Watch cannot unlock your Resort Hotel room door, but you can open it with your phone and the My Disney Experience app! You can also open your room with a key card or a MagicBand, which is my preferred way to unlock my door.

While it can't unlock your room, your Apple Watch can be used to access your ticket through Disney MagicMobile service! If you add your ticket to your mobile wallet, you can tap your Apple Watch at the entrance to the Theme Parks as well as at attractions to enter the Lightning Lane if you're using Disney Genie+ service. You don't even have to open any apps on your watch, your ticket will be read automatically when you hold it up to the reader! How's that for magical?

I hope this answers your question, Jim, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your vacation.
