How do I use my Apple Watch in place of magic band?

Hey Shaun! Welcome to planDisney! June is almost here, and your next adventure to The Most Magical Place on Earth is just around the corner. Start packing your bags and don't forget all the chargers. Let's talk about the incredible technology that we can use at the theme parks.

It sounds like you're talking about the Disney MagicMobile Service, which I'm a huge fan of and have been using for years. It's super convenient, and even though I'm a fan of MagicBands+, I like to have a backup option on my iPhone and Apple Watch ready for when I need it. With this complimentary service, you can enter the theme parks with a valid admission and theme park reservation, if applicable, link your Disney PhotoPass images, check in at Virtual Queues and Lightning Lane entrances, and even charge food and merchandise purchases to a credit card linked to your Disney Resort hotel room during your stay. Isn't that great?

To set up your Disney MagicMobile Service, make sure you have the My Disney Experience app on your iPhone, as this is a feature of the app, and you need to have tickets or hotel reservations already added to the app. Pro tip: you can use your computer to link reservations and tickets, and then go back to the app to finish the digital pass setup. Once inside the app, click the 3-line hamburger icon in the bottom-right corner and select the Disney MagicMobile tile. From here, just select your digital pass style (I'm all about Simba and Lion King, by the way) and follow the prompts to add your MagicMobile pass to your Apple Wallet.

Now you can use your pass on both your cellphone and watch. The instructions are the same to add a digital pass to an Android phone, but no Android smartwatches are supported at the moment.

Once you enter the theme parks or check in for a Lightning Lane queue, just hold your smart device near the touch point and you should be good to go. For Apple devices, Express Mode is enabled automatically when you add the digital pass, so you don't have to open or unlock your device as they will show up with a simple tap. Pure magic.

Shaun, I hope this answers your question. Can't wait to see all the fantastic memories you will make at The Walt Disney World Resort with your entire crew. Please come back anytime if you have more questions. It's always a pleasure to help a friend like you.

    Cheers
    Nilson
