We are delighted to hear that you are planning a visit to Batuu. The Resistance is thrilled to welcome new allies to the Cause.
On each of my visits, boarding groups have been distributed for the day within a few minutes of park opening. On each visit, we reviewed the
park hours, confirmed our
transport options, and linked all members of our party in
My Disney Experience. During our most recent visit, we were staying at Disney's BoardWalk Villas, so we walked to Disney's Hollywood Studios. If you are not within walking distance, I recommend
Disney Minnie Van™ Service Connected by Lyft or another ride share service like Uber.
We arrived at the park at least 30 minutes early to be sure we cleared security and were through the park entrance just prior to park opening. Everyone in your party who plans to ride needs to be in the park with you when you
join a boarding group. Be sure you see the link for
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance - Access by Boarding Group in the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. Once the park officially opens, be ready to click on the link that says Join Boarding Group. Be advised that boarding procedures could change to enhance the guest experience, so verify the process just before you go.
On one visit, we were not able to join a boarding group using the mobile app because three members of our group were not registering as in the park even though they had scanned in earlier. We had to find a Cast member to help us but that delay, of just a few minutes, meant that we were placed in boarding group 101. On another day, when the process worked smoothly, we were able to join boarding group 38. So, when you arrive, just be sure to locate a Cast member who could assist you with joining a boarding group should you need help.
