Hi Alexis!
Welcome to PlanDisney.
I'm happy to see that you are getting organised for your forthcoming trip, which must be just around the corner if you are within the timeframe of 60 days for making your dining reservations.
What I would do if I needed a reservation for a larger group than seems available, is to book a table for the largest number you are offered, and then try and modify it on the app, or online. You have a couple of options available to modify your booking which are time of reservation and number of guests, and it's always worth trying an earlier or later time of day, or even change the date if you are flexible in your plans. It should be noted that some restaurants and dining events have different modification and cancellation requirements -
they are listed here.
You could also just keep checking (every day if necessary) to see if your original booking becomes available to seat more people at one table. Guests do cancel and change their plans every day - even on the day of the reservation. On my last trip I managed to get a booking for a really popular restaurant on the same day, so I know it's possible. (That was for
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White, which is always fully booked. In case that tempts you, I highly recommend that dining experience which is set in an enchanted forest with visits from Snow White, Grumpy and Dopey at your table, and then the Evil Queen may offer you an invitation to meet for a photo after you have finished your meal. She pretends to be very scary and it's always a challenge to make her smile!!)
If you are using your My Disney Experience mobile app to check dining availability, certain restaurants will offer a walk-in option for the same day, so it's worth keeping an eye on that too.
I hope you have success with your booking, and please come back and visit us again if you have any further questions. You can also
send me a direct question if you wish. We are always happy to help you plan your magical vacation at Walt Disney World!
Sue
