Hiya, Erin! Welcome to planDisney! Are you ready to sprinkle some pixie dust on your Disneyland vacation planning? You've come to the right place! Get ready for some phenomenal Disney magic, West Coast style!
I’m glad you asked about the
Disneyland mobile app—it's like your very own magic wand for navigating the parks! Think of it as your guide to unlocking all the enchantment, from booking dining reservations to making Lightning Lane selections. While both Walt Disney World and Disneyland have mobile apps, it's important to note that they are, in fact, separate apps. For your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, you'll want to download the Disneyland app. Just search "Disneyland" in the app store and look for the icon with the blue background, Sleeping Beauty Castle silhouette, and fireworks.
Once you've got the app, the real fun begins! You asked about linking accounts with another family—think of it as creating your own adventure squad! While Walt Disney World's My Disney Experience app uses the "My Family & Friends" section, Disneyland's app connects your crew through linked tickets. Just open the app, tap the menu button (three-lined icon at the bottom right), and then select "My Tickets & Passes". See that little blue plus (+) sign at the top right? Tap it and choose "Link Tickets & Passes."
Now, you've got two ways to sprinkle some magic: You can use the "Camera" tab to scan everyone's tickets, or if you've got the ticket ID numbers handy, use the "Type ID" tab. Once linked, those tickets will appear in your "My Tickets & Passes" section—ready for adventure!
You also asked about making Lightning Lane selections in the app, Erin. I’m happy to share that you can absolutely do that! After purchasing
Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass (which you can also do in the app!), simply tap the menu button at the bottom right, then tap the “Lightning Lane Passes” tile. From there, you’ll be able to see the tip board to view available Lightning Lane return times and book your selections.
Foodie adventures await, too! Making dining reservations is super simple. Simply tap the plus (+) sign at the bottom, then tap “Check Dining Availability”. After selecting your party size and preferred date and time, you’ll see a list of available reservations. If you’re not quite sure where you’d like to dine, you can easily access menus by tapping the restaurant’s name, followed by “View Menu”.
Feeling spontaneous?
Mobile food and beverage ordering is your pal! Tap the plus sign, select "Order Food", and browse quick-service options and pickup times. And here's a pro tip, Erin: When you select an arrival time and start ordering, you'll be able to see photos of the food and drink options! I’m a visual person, so sometimes I don’t know what I want until I see an actual picture of it!
All this talk about food has me craving a churro! Don't leave without trying one—they're a Disneyland classic! I hope this helps you plan your magical adventure, Erin! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions about planning your trip to the Disneyland Resort—that’s exactly why we’re here!
