Hello, Julie!
Oh no! It's frustrating that you had some hiccups in the process of trying to purchase your Disneyland Resort tickets. I just tried to go through the steps of purchasing tickets and am seeing the same thing you are. The developers of the Disneyland app would probably like to hear your feedback. As an engineer myself, I feel strongly that I want to deliver the best possible product to my customers. I’ve had a chance to meet a few of the developers for the
Disneyland app. They seem like hard-working engineers who are striving to give guests like you and me the best possible digital experience. So I left them some feedback through the app store on my mobile device. They may appreciate some comments through the
online email system as well.
Now, let’s see what we can do to get you moving along in the ticket purchase process. There are a few options you can try. One approach is to use a different account to make your ticket purchase. Just like you, I was seeing only the SoCal Resident ticket offer in the Disneyland app, even though I don’t reside in California at all. But when my wife tried purchasing tickets using her account, she could select all of the regular ticket offers available at this time.
Another approach is to purchase your
theme park tickets online. This can even be done from within a browser on your mobile device. During the purchase process online, you will sign in to your Disneyland Resort account. I’ve found this even ensures that my ticket purchase is automatically linked to my account in the Disneyland app.
Finally, one more approach you can try is to sign out of your account in the Disneyland app. After you are signed out, begin the ticket purchase process before signing in again. You should then see the regular ticket offers again. As you proceed through the purchase, the app will prompt you to sign in to your account again. But your selected ticket type will remain through the rest of the process.
One extra recommendation I have is to also download the free
Play Disney Parks app. Play Disney Parks includes games, trivia, and more. Many elements in the Play Disney Parks app even interact with physical features around the Disneyland Resort. One of my favorite examples is the lamp found in the queue of
Peter Pan's Flight. The
Star Wars: Datapad, included in the Play Disney Parks app, is also a wonderful way to immerse yourself in the world of
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge even more.
I hope this helps get you closer to your visit to the Disneyland Resort, Julie. If you have any more questions about your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth, I hope you’ll visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel again.
