Apologies for the many questions but we normally come in May, we are coming Nov 25 - Dec 5th this time. When do the Water Parks shut for refurbishment? Also can we still do Mickey's Backyard BBQ and Chip N Dale's Campfire at this time? Thanks in advance :)

    Hi Ron!

Thank you for submitting your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It's great that you are planning your vacation so far in advance! You will definitely have the advantage of finding Typically, the water parks are refurbished in the winter months, however they always do one at a time, (i.e. Typhoon Lagoon may be closed November - December and Blizzard Beach may be closed January - February). It is too early to tell which one will be open in November. The best thing would be for you to check the schedules for Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach at least 30 days before your trip.

As for Mickey's Backyard BBQ, this is a seasonal show that is offered on Thursdays and Saturdays from March through December. Advance reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit. I have never experienced it but only hear great things about it from my fellow moms. Chip ’N Dale’s Campfire Sing-a-long is a recreational activity offered at the Campsites located at Disney's Fort Wilderness Lodge. It generally begins around 7 p.m. during the fall/winter season and 8 p.m. beginning sometime in April through the summer.  The program begins with a sing-along led by a Disney cast member and a marshmallow roast around two campfire rings. While this is going on, Chip and Dale make an appearance to visit with guests and sign autographs. The sing-along lasts about 40 minutes. Your family will love it!
